It was a pleasure to have them doing work round our home, they are a great team, they were courteous, spoke nicely to each other, clean in their presentation, no radio blasting, they kept the work area clean and gathered up all rubbish before they left, delightful young men. They seemed to have the solar panels installed in no time at all.

Oh and we are enjoying watching our solar panels pump out the kWh's.

I have been remiss in not expressing our satisfaction for the installation of our solar PV system at the above address but an inspection of our system by Ausgrid today has prompted me to rectify this. The Ausgrid inspectors found our system to be safe and had been installed to meet all the current requirements.

Our satisfaction with Solar Switch began with the quotation for our system by Joseph Oliveri who listened to our requirements, presented a range of options and suggestions and then provided us with a competitive quotation.

Our system was efficiently intalled by your sub-contractor, Gavin Smith of Greenscope Energy Solutions, on March 10th 2011 and despite the warning of an expected delay your level 2 electrician did the switchboard meter change eight days later on March 18th.

Our satisfaction with your service continues to grow with time as the following occurs:-

1. The predicted output from our system appears to be on track in a period of lower solar intensity.
2. When our first electricity account, after installation, arrived we received the expected rebate for the power returned to the grid. This confirmed that Solar Switch had efficiently processed all the paperwork necessary to receive a solar rebate and meet the requirements of authorities.
3. The inspection by Ausgrid today confirms the quality of workmanship which your company and its sub-contractors deliver.

I am writing you this email as I wish to commend your ‘workers’ at Solar Switch. I had a Solar Switch solar panel installation on Tuesday 19th April 2011, at my home address at Jannali.

Firstly, I became involved in researching solar power after watching segments on television and became ‘aware’ of the Government Rebates. I began my own research on this ‘hot’ topic via the internet and was surprised of the amount of information and the amount of companies who can supply this product. It was actually overwhelming. Who is going to give me the ‘right advice’???

I noticed several of the companies were interstate however, this is not ‘my style’ of dealing with ‘tradies’ via the internet or telephone. Yeah sure I may have got a better price, but and this is a BIG BUT, would have I got the BEST PRODUCT for this service. I decided to deal with a company who has a showroom and salesperson. I had read several good comments also in ‘forum style’ on the internet about Solar Switch. So that’s how I got to choose your company.

After attending your showroom and making an appointment, I met your Area Manager, Joe OLIVERI who attended my house and was very helpful in all the information that I needed and explained everything about Solar power to me. Anyway, I decided on a 3KW system. Then today, (19/4/11) I met two of your installers, Tim and young Mitch. They turned up on time and got stuck into the work straight away. From my observation of these two installers they did a ‘top notch’ professional installation. I believe Tim installed my system as if it was in his home. No cutting corners here and there. Again, top notch installers.

I cannot speak highly enough of your company, Area Manager and installers. If these guys are a sample of your company, you won’t need luck to make it, as ‘word of mouth’ goes a long way.

I would like to just say that we had an installation done today by two of your installers Billy & Adam and it was just first class. They were great. We're very happy with our solar panels (6 were installed in October 2009 and another 4 in August 2010) and the solar hot water service that was installed in April 2010, all by SolarSwitch.

We've been amazed at the cost savings we made over the winter period in particular - for a 5 month period (April to the end of August 2010), our total electricity charges were just over $400 whereas last year, our electricity bill for one quarter in the winter months was over $600.

In the year since we installed our initial solar panels, we've clocked up over 2,000kw of energy that has gone back to the grid, and in the past month, 200 kW has been generated by our solar system. Great for the environment and great for us !

I wanted to thank you for making this whole process of installing my solar energy system such a painless & un-confusing one - there is so much information (AND mis-information) out there that it is virtually impossible to sift one's way through it all. Thanks for your patience along the way (I think I may have asked you the same 2 questions 4 or 5 times!). At every stage, I was always very comfortable dealing with not only you, but also the installers- you both made it seem that there was nothing that was too hard to do! Also, the installers took particular care to ensure that any exterior cabling was always hidden, this meant there were no unsightly cables (which was a very important detail for us). I also note that the inverter showed that our 3kW system was actually producing over 2.5kW on a semi-overcast day, and it's not even Spring yet! We're looking forward to reaping the benefits when the days are longer & sunnier!

Once again, of all the companies I dealt with whilst researching solar PVs, you guys stand out head & shoulders above the rest. I only wish I'd found you sooner - I could have saved myself a lot of anguish & confusion. I will certainly be passing on your details to anybody I speak to about solar energy.

It has been a little over 12 months since we had the solar panels installed and I could not be happier. The highly professional and courteous manner from the office staff to the installers really pleased me. The organisation of the whole process was done for me, including the paperwork for the Government rebate giving me peace of mind. The salesman was very polite and explained everything to me in easy to understand terms. The tradesmen that installed our system were absolutely wonderful. They arrived on time and were very efficient, completing the job in half a day.
Our electricity bills have dropped from an average of $350.00 per quarter (electricity only) to around $130.00 including the gas bill. At this rate the system will pay for itself in only a few short years and will keep paying for itself for many years to come. Whenever I'm talking to my friends about the solar panels, I tell them that it was Solar Switch that did the job and I recommend that they use no other company.

I’m very pleased to say that on the first full day of operation the system generated in excess of 58 Kilowatt Hours (kWh) of power.

Putting this into perspective, our most recent power bill shows our average daily power use, was 47.4 kWh. So not only did we produce the equivalent of all our own power, but we also powered some of our neighbours too!

Additionally, the system generated almost $35 in Gross Feed in Tariff, calculated at, the announced, 60c rate per kWh.

Along with our rainwater tank, which we installed in 2008, it makes us feel that we are doing what we can for the environment.

Our daily useage is now listed at 2KWh , down from 9KWh and the bill went from $ 171 down to $74. Dear SolarSwitch,

You arranged installation of a 1 kW solar system on our house a few months ago. The installation was absolutely trouble free from my point of view, and the system has been working perfectly ever since.

Now that days are getting longer (September), on sunny days we are producing more electricity than we use over a twenty four hour period, which I am thrilled about. I expect through summer given reasonable weather we should be getting negative electricity bills, as our lighting load drops further (our house is well designed and does not need air-conditioning).

To achieve this, we have measured our usage very closely. One of the big things was to switch off as as many things as possible that sit on standby (e.g. our TV and set top box together use about 70 watt when being watched, but still use 40 watt when on standby (0.96 kWh/day)! We now switch them off when not used. Compare that to our fridge at 0.5 kWh/day, which is doing something useful. We are helped by cooking on gas and having solar hot water.
