Solar Schools
The Federal Government is offering every school/college a grant of up to $50,000 (excluding GST) to have a solar electricity (photovoltaic) system installed. Through the “National Solar Schools Program” your school can have up to a 10kW state of the art solar power system installed absolutely FREE.
A 10kW solar power system saves around 18 tonnes of carbon emissions annually and will reduce the school’s electricity costs by thousands of dollars per year. This opportunity will also serve as a valuable educational tool for teaching students about renewable energy and sustainable living.
The final round of funding for the National Solar Schools Program is opening for new registrations. To be eligible for funding your school first needs to register, providing some basic details, using the online registration form on the National Solar Schools website. You will be emailed a Project ID and once you have this please contact SolarSwitch so we can assist your school with the application process. Applications for funding open on February 13th 2012 and close on May 4th 2012.

“This is to certify that St
Paul's Grammer School has gone solar thanks to Solar Switch and the
federal government's National Solar Schools Program. The scheme offers
each primary and secondary school in Australia $55,000 to install energy
saving systems like solar electricity. As we have more than 1,000
students we were able to secure a double grant of $110,000.00. Solar
Switch has installed an 11.88kW solar electricity system, consisting of
66 X 180W monocrystalline solar panels, at the school which will produce
around 18,000kWh per year helping to reduce the schools energy bills
and carbon footprint.
We found Solar
Switch excellent to deal with. They were efficient and speedy in
response to our needs, knowledgeable and technically proficient, always
helpful and courteous, and professional in every way. We would welcome
any further inquiries about their work and would be happy to show any
inquirer the work they have done.”
Yours
sincerely
